Welcome to Christian fellowship at First Pres! What a blessing it is to gather in God’s name to explore and celebrate his presence in our lives. Throughout the year we offer many opportunities for you to join your church family in fun events designed to enhance your faith journey. Most of our events are multigenerational, as we have much to learn from each other! Watch for take-home and in-person opportunities.
Check the First Word monthly newsletter and this Events page for future Faith Formation gatherings. Contact Alisa Gibson alisag@fpcandersonsc.com with questions and suggestions about upcoming events.
“When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”

Alisa Gibson
Coordinator of Faith Formation Events
alisag@fpcandersonsc.com
After joining First Pres with her family in 1996, Alisa quickly became involved with the Christian Education department, first as a volunteer, then as a staff member serving as Director of Christian Education and as Coordinator of Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and currently Faith Formation Events.
Alisa is the daughter of a Presbyterian minister who spent her childhood summers in the Presbyterian community of Montreat NC. She believes that faith formation is a lifelong journey and values the importance of multigenerational fellowship within the church. Having served as moderator to the Presbyterian Women, church librarian, Sunday school teacher and director of vacation bible school, Alisa knows and loves our church from the inside out!
Fun fact – Alisa, her husband Bill, and their three adult children are all graduates of Clemson University. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, and especially spending time with family and friends.
