Faith Formation
At First Pres, small groups provide many opportunities for all ages and stages to explore resources and practices that inspire fresh ways of thinking about the forming of faith over a person’s lifetime. Whether you’re just joining the conversation on Christian practices, a seasoned veteran, or visiting our church for the first time, we hope you’ll find a stimulating and helpful group for cultivating a renewed interest in formative education.
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear…”
1 Peter 3:15

first events
At First Pres, there are many opportunities every month to gather together for fellowship, discipleship, service and good ol’ fashioned fun for the whole family. Check out what is coming-soon, find an event that interests you, and you will see yourself immersed in our church and community.

first adults
The goal of our adult faith formation programming is to provide a wide array of educational opportunities to engage a wide variety of disciples who find their commonality is seeking to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ. From those who are newly adjusting to “adulting” to those who are more seasoned, all adults must grapple with how their faith should and will inform daily life, and how best to serve God throughout all of life. Disciples of any age need to understand the Bible, live into their faith, and communicate it to others, and assisting with these components is central to the First Pres approach to faith formation. We strive to equip all adults for faithful living by helping them grow spiritually, personally, professionally, and in relationships with God, family, friends, and those whom we are called to serve.

As members of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson, we are called to create a community of faith that seeks the welfare of its members and visitors. Therefore, we are committed to the protection of all children, youth, and other persons participating in the activities and programs of First Presbyterian Church. The Safe Church Policy has evolved from a shared concern that the church must be a safe and secure place for our children, youth and adults.
Please read the Safe Church Policy and Procedures Manual if you are approved to serve in an area of ministry, then fill out the Statement of Compliance and Permission for Background Check Forms. These may be submitted digitally, or you may also print, complete and deliver to the Church office.
